Vision of The Art Forum
13.8 billion years ago, being had no meaning. Meaning is a concept developed by the man that is cognitive only to man. We have evolved into an animal that has an understanding of meaning and definition. But four billion years ago, there was no such thing as life. Dinosaurs became extinct 65 million years ago. They have ruled the earth for 165 million years. Homo sapiens were born about two hundred thousand years ago. About one and a half million years ago, they acquired the ability to speak. The first cave painting was found about 33,000 years ago. Agriculture originated ten thousand years ago. The first document was found five thousand years ago. None of this had no meaning 13.8 billion years ago. It was only about 500 years ago that the fundamental changes that underlie the structures of human relations, exchange values, and economic relations in which we live today took place. This is a small moment that can be ignored when compared to the flow of the time of the whole universe. But the beings called humans on is the universe has a feature that other living and lived beings in this universe do not have. It is because of that character that the ethical principles that hold these human relationships together remain. That is the characteristic of civilization. The ancient tribes raped the wives, sisters, daughters and mothers of the defeated tribes at the end of the war. One thousand five hundred years ago, when the king fell in love with a woman, he brought her to concubinage without consulting her. But society fifty years ago, when someone fell in love, they sent love letters. What our generation is doing is putting WhatsApp status. Or messaging. The next generation will do something different. We came to non-violent human relationships for no other reason than to choose something more civilized than established. This is not an accident. This is what is commonly known as culture. It is neither politicians nor lawyers and unfortunately not even scientists who have added such cultural values to culture. It was done by artists and philosophers. They were the ones who socialized the idea of good. The majority didn't feel bad when the Catholic Church burned people alive as gifts for new scientific discoveries. So it was the artist who pumped the idea of this good into the social consciousness. And the Philosopher. And The new thinker. And People who are willing to accept civility. It's the person who agreed to practice. This is why humanity needs art. This is why philosophical taste should cultivate artistic taste. That is why the Science Faculty Art Forum works to create an interest in art among university students in this way. We are the platform for the artistic talents of all students. If anyone asks why the Arts Forum exists, it is for this and only this. That is, as partners in a fully civilized cultural journey.
